Any Logic Behind Dual SIM Phones That SIM 2 Doubles As Memory Card Slot?

I have asked this question time without number whenever I see dual SIM phones (mostly android) that the 2^nd SIM slot doubles the same as microSD card slot.

What is actually the rationale behind such development?

Apart from being a complete turn off, why make the 2^nd SIM slot for a dual SIM phone to also serve as slot for MicroSD card instead of going straight ahead to making the device a single SIM phone.

I can’t even imagine the way one will be feeling all the time for having to remove the second SIM in their phone in order to make use of their memory card; that sounds so much awkward to me and I don’t know about you.

Sometimes some inventions or technology we see are not just worth it and one of them is those smartphone OEM that go ahead making dual SIM phones that their 2^nd SIM slot doubles as memory card slot.

The first phone I witnessed such an awkward development is in Innjoo One smartphone and I still believe it was one of the reasons that turned off most buyers from acquiring the device.

As if that was not enough and after taking such development as technological blunder, there we go again with latest Gionee S6 coming with dual SIM slots that has one of its SIM slot doubling as microSD card slot.

Or maybe I am not getting something right here on the rationale behind such invention and I need help here for someone to put me through and explain to me any advantage, if there is any on why smartphone OEM sometimes produce dual SIM phones that have one of their SIM slots doubling as microSD card slot.

Wouldn’t it be better for a smartphone to come with only one SIM slot device than coming out with so called dual SIM slots that has one their SIM slot serving as memory card slot?

In my opinion, I still believe that memory card slot, if there is any in a device should be unique and should stand alone for the purpose of ease of usability as we used to know.

What are your takes on this, do you have any contrary opinion that you will like to share that justifies such development or you are also of the opinion that it is a technological blunders producing such devices just the way I also see it?
