MTN Commences Test Run Of 4G LTE Service
Few months
back, MTN hinted on 4G LTE services provision to its numerous customers, and it
seems the time is almost here as the largest GSM providers in the country, MTN
through its latest acquired subsidiary company Visafone has started to test-run
the 4G LTE service.
This is in a
bid as promised to align itself to the modern 4th generation internet service
and to help deliver high speed broadband internet access to its teeming
subscribers in major cities across the country.
However, the current on-going test-run will
only be available to Visafone subscribers on the 800MHz band and MTN hope to
fully launch the 4G LTE service on their 2.6GHz spectrum after anticipating
successful testing at this pilot stage.
For many,
they consider it as long overdue move and definitely a step in the right
direction as they awaits transformation from aging 3G internet service to
high-speed 4G LTE broadband penetration.
