The processes are simple and fast, and if you are ready, follow us below as we walk you through the method involved in enjoying the ultrasonic like speed that MTN 4G LTE service offers;
• You need a 4G LTE enabled phone that supports the network frequency on band 20 (800MHZ) and band 7 (2600MHZ).
To know if your device supports the above frequency bands you can easily check here
• Secondly is that you need to have an MTN 4G SIM popularly known as USIM. You can text 4G to 131 to know if you already have a USIM or walk into any MTN recognised stores near you and request for a free SIM swap with your old MTN 3G SIM to a new USIM
• You need to be in an MTN 4G LTE network coverage area, and currently we said that it is available only in Abuja and Lagos.
• You need to have an active data subscription and any of your normal MTN data subscription plans will just be Ok
• Finally you need to use your device and head to the mobile network settings section and set it to highlight the 4G or LTE network.
When you have done all that, your network signal will indicate 4G or LTE and you can then start cruising like jet, overtaking those still struggling with 2G and 3G network.
Some folks out there have already reported reaching a peak download speed of about 60Mbps with the new MTN LTE services on their device.
What are you still waiting for if you are already in Abuja and Lagos areas, and is it not high time you joined the moving train even if Ntel is not treating well in those areas?
