3 Tech Companies That Have Currently And Completely Lost Firepower In The Nigerian Market

Talking about companies losing firepower in their area of businesses is a clear indication that things are no longer rosy as it used to be in the past and that business is rather nose diving or taking downward trend in some of their major market locations.

This is the case of certain tech companies doing businesses in the various categories of Nigerian tech market that have not been seeing their peak periods and even completely being forced to rebrand in an attempt to salvage their already dying business for them to stay relevant in the market.

In that vein, we tend to look in the direction of 3 tech companies doing businesses with products and services in the Nigerian market that are typical examples of the scenario mapped out above.

These 3 companies, mostly in recent times have lost their footings in the Nigerian market but are still gasping with last breath to remain relevant and see if they can gain back market strength in Nigeria.

Must Read: Etisalat in the tales of many crises

Without further ado, the 3 tech companies that immediately come to mind today are;

1.  Etisalat Nigeria now 9Mobile – the sudden demise of the Etisalat Nigerian brand from the Nigerian telecommunication atmosphere was quite surprising, which was a pure indication that the company ran into crises as result of some unfavourable business policies that did not finally go well with them and thus the complete rebranding currently witnessed from Etisalat Nigeria to 9Mobile.

As we speak now, one cannot really come out to predict the direction that new 9Mobile parent company that emanated from Etisalat will take as there are surely new challenges to surmount and the new company is currently and strongly seeking for new investors to consolidate on their emerging brand and businesses areas.

2.  Blackberry – yes blackberry used to be a solid global brand that also do business in Nigeria and long before now, the company has been on the downward trend all over, and their downward trend case in Nigeria was even more pronounced in recent times as telecom companies offering blackberry services have recently come out to announce termination of blackberry services.

On their mobile products, it is no longer news that Blackberry has lost relevance even on branding that another company TCL has to take over to continue seeking ways of boosting the blackberry brand.

3.  Innjoo – Presently, at the mention or hearing of the name Innjoo in the Nigerian mobile market, customers tend to flee with their heels touching the back of their head. The name Innjoo is now a nightmare for many and we can say to a large extent that the company glaringly caused all that is happening to them by themselves; when in the face of the highly competitive Nigerian mobile market, instead of coming up with flagship devices with difference, they were busy manufacturing and pushing in craps.

Who still deals on craps in this jet age of innovative and great mobile transformations?

Finally, we want to draw the curtains close by sounding it out there clearly to other companies that in business there is no room for lagging as other companies might just be waiting by the side to capitalize on your loophole and capture the market.
