Airbus plan summer maiden flight of its latest A350 XWB plane
Airbus is
planning a first time summer flight of its new A350 WXB aircraft. With this
extra wide bodied airplane, it is built with high fuel efficiency in mind, and
most of the plane parts are manufactured with composite materials.
The plane’s
fuselage is made from carbon-fibre reinforced plastic composites which provide it
with low fuel burn, increased resistance to corrosion and easier maintenance.
The wide wing of the plane is made from lightweight carbon composites, making it the largest ever single aviation part made from carbon fibre.
