With the ever increasing popularity of whatsapp mobile messaging app across the world, whatsapp is said to be one of the largest mobile messaging app as of today with all its users freely and frequently sending out volumes of text messages on daily basis.

As of today, whatsapp boast of having over 400 million active users making use of the app monthly, and with such statistics one could easily state that it is a step in the right direction on the part of Facebook and which could turn out to be of immense benefit to them on the long run.

Facebook has in the past introduced similar service known as Facebook messenger, but did not actually see the light of the day like whatsapp which is said to have a mile stone target of connecting about 1 billion people together.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook has acknowledged that partnering with Whatapp CEO Jan Koum will be wonderful and will even bring the world more open and connected.

While on the other part, Jan Koum has admonished all whatsapp users to remain calm and not to panic on what will become of the whatspp thereafter the deal.

He went ahead to assure users that whatsapp will continue to remain autonomous and nothing at all will change when making use of the service, and that users will still enjoy the full benefit of the service at the infinitesimal annual fee and that no distracting ads will be seen; just the same way they use it formerly.

Finally, the deadline set for the completion of the whole deal was set on the 9th of August 2014 in which it was said that if Facebook by any means fails to seal up the deal on or before that deadline date, then it will have to pay whatsapp $1billion in cash and another $1 billion in Facebook stock.
