More reasons you should enable mobile view template on your blog
Many
bloggers make the simple mistake of disabling their mobile view template on
their blog thereby allowing their blog visitors to only see the web version of
their blogs even when they visit with mobile devices.
I repeat; it is mistakes if you are engaging in such practices, I have noticed that and you will hardly see any top blog that is engaging in such.
I repeat; it is mistakes if you are engaging in such practices, I have noticed that and you will hardly see any top blog that is engaging in such.
We understand
fully the reasons behind such action, which could range from trying to show off
to your visitors how beautiful your web template is, because you always have
the feelings that not everything on your blog is visible on the mobile version,
to other things like, you want your affiliated banners or some of your PPC ads
to be displayed to your visitors regardless of whichever devices they are
visiting with.
In your
quest to display your full website version to all your visitors every time and
at all cost, you tend to forget so many things and the key ingredient of
effective blogging, which is delivering true value to your blog visitors.

True value
to visitors does not only boil down to quality contents, but it also
encompasses how or the manner in which those contents are delivered to your
visitors that will make them happy to come back again.
It includes how
beautiful your templates are, the colour, font and sizes of your contents and
most importantly how easy it is to navigate through your blog on any platform (how
well it fit to any screen) and also how fast it loads.

All the
above combines together to give your visitors true sense of belonging in your
blog readership community and make them crave to come back and even better,
when they come back, they always find meaningful and useful contents.
Then on your
own part now, you decide to disable your mobile view because of personal reason
or thought. Let me now put it to you or ask you some series of question about
such action; have you forgotten that blogging is a serious business?
Have you forgotten that in blogging, you blog for people and not for yourself, having in mind that any blog without visitors is dead already? Have you forgotten that personal or selfish interest in blogging counts less than visitors’ interest? In a simple term, it is what your visitors want that you should give them once their desire does not go against any of webmasters or blogging rules, and not what you want. “Visitors are the livewire of any blog”

Anything
that you do on your blog that will discomfort your visitors in anyway, you
should just know that you are equally discomforting your blog.
Coming back to the major topic of the day, and since it is always advisable to put the interest of your blog visitors first before any other thing, if you go ahead to disable your blog mobile view template, here are the two major consequences your blog will face and these are what pieces off visitors the most;
Must read:How to transfer blogger blog ownership to new user without giving out your Google account details
>> Your blog load time will increase
when visitors view with mobile devices
>> It will never fit to screen on
mobile devices, and will be causing visitor to be navigating or
scrolling left,
right, up, down and centre on your blog.
And not every visitor will be that
patient enough to be engaging in such blog that they have to scroll every now
and then just for them to get what they want. Such blogs can easily make your
visitors to disappear and it will make them to find it hard to visit back again.

Finally, with the ever increasing
numbers of mobile users, it will not be ideal for you to be losing such juicy traffic
coming from mobile viewers because of some sort of selfish or bad practice.
Building readership community is paramount.
And if you feel you want to display your ads on mobile templates, there are ways you can optimise your mobile templates, and those your ads will still show on them.

DeleteMobile optimization is advisable to bloggers. Come to think an interested audience digging your webpage on his Smartphone since laptop isn't handy. Then, your blogging site is not yet optimized, most probably; he will bring to an end, digging some information and find another site that is prefect for his phone.

Hi Edwin,
ReplyDeleteI happened to read this post, thanks to Kingged.com!
Yes, I’ve had experience surfing such blogs! And to be honest, it is quite annoying, navigating around them.
I agree that in a bid to ‘show the whole blog’ along with those ads and stuff, many bloggers resort to displaying ‘desktop’ version of their blog for mobile devices also.
The result is a blog that won’t fit into the small screen of the mobile screen! Users are forced to scroll horizontally and vertically to read the whole post! Most of the times, the text would also be too small, forcing users to zoom in to read the text! I’m saying all this because I’ve been through this experience!
But what these bloggers should understand is they are not satisfying the needs of ‘mobile web’ users. According to stats, the use of mobile web is increasing at such a rate that it’ll replace the ‘traditional internet surfing’ habit of people!
And guess what, even Google is interested in improving the user experience of mobile web visitors! If you use ‘Google PageSpeed Insights’ to optimize your blog, you’ll find there a ‘mobile user experience’ checker.
At present, it is in ‘beta’ stage. But in future, it will play a key role! Bloggers shouldn’t forget that!
At the end of the day, a blog is meant for the convenience of users, not the blogger! Great post buddy!
