Blackberry extends BBM generosity gesture to Windows phone
Are all the
recent BBM giveaway gestures from Blackberry to other platforms belated?
Blackberry
still in their bid to remain relevant, this time around they are focusing more
on software and services other than smartphones which have caused their
smartphone market share drop to the lowest level as result of numerous
challenges.
One might
want to say that the recent giveaway of BBM which was once Blackberry exclusive
mobile messaging app to their rivalry platforms is coming quite belated and
that failure to make it more global at the onset have been the major reason why
BBM is currently lagging behind the likes of Whatsapp and some other similar
mobile messaging app.
Though one
can still agree that it is better to come late than never, maybe working with
this principle, Blackberry is once again extending its BBM giveaway generosity
gesture to the 3rd rivalry major platform. This time around to the
Windows mobile platform, coming just after last year same gesture to the
Android and Apple platforms.
In their
latest statements, Blackberry said that Windows Phone 8 users can now download
BBM and have access to features like BBM chats, BBM feeds and group.
The
blackberry crews were very thrilled at this recent gesture to the Windows
mobile platform, as they see it as part of the ways of expanding its availability
and BBM communities.
Currently,
BBM is said to have over 85million active users across the globe and Blackberry
is still hoping to surpass that number in the near future.
