Ello: The fast rising social network that might successfully compete with Facebook
Ello is the current buzzing ads free
social network that is just about a month old but with quantum of people
frolicking around it.
And the recent buzz in Ello is quite amazing considering its nascent state that one could
only but fear for the future of Facebook
considering the kind of mindset we are witnessing from its founders.
Ello is still in Beta stage as the founders work towards developing a social media environment that will be totally ads free and seen as Anti-Facebook.
Paul
Budnitz, a co-founder of Ello has recently been constantly on the media as the
spearhead for the new platform that have surprisingly being receiving about
40,000 invites and approval per
hour.

As of now,
to become part of the Ello network, you need only an email with an invite only
from existing member, unlike Facebook that requires signup with your real
names, data of birth, email/phone number.
The concept
of offering a no ads social network was explained by Budnitz as a means of
bringing people together where values and interesting stuffs are shared amongst
themselves other than just looking for a way to use them as data point and
marketing instrument.
He also
pointed out that with Ello, that you can use any name of your choice and do
whatever you want in as much as you play by the rules.
But the big
question remains; How to keep Ello running for years to come considering their
no ads policy which would of being perceived as major source of funding for the
project.

But Budnitz
in his reply to that, explained that they look forward to allowing members who
might be willing to upgrade to special and additional features that Ello will
be coming up with, and that by so doing, they will be able to raise fund with
that and keep Ello moving.
Though the
nascent social network has received a form of grant to the tune of $435,000 from Fresh Tracks Investment Firm, there are still lot to do in the
closest future and more cash to go down in making Ello a force to reckon with.
But hope is
on the high side, considering the mammoth interest already garnered by the Ello
in its first month of operation. And we here on our part, we all want to wish Budnitz and his team luck as they look
forward to taking Ello towards a greater height in the online social media
environment.
