Is Jumia turning a new leaf and Konga backsliding?
Jumia and
Konga as you might have known by now are the two most common and largest
Nigerian online stores that sell next to everything when it comes to consumer
products.
As an avid
online shopper and which I also discovered that it is part of my hobby, I shop
on both stores constantly either for personal shopping or shopping for others.
In other words, I am a loyal customer to both Konga and Jumia.
Shopping
online can be fun when things always go smooth for you, and on the other hand,
it can be awry.
Whenever I
shop on both Jumia and Konga, I have always monitored the quality of services
rendered by both to their customers in terms of quality of products, product
prices (cheapness), shipping fees, time and delays in goods delivery etc.

If you have
been following us here, you will notice that I have compared the both before on
the Konga VS Jumia article, and with the odds favouring Konga in that piece.
But one
thing that will all know is that change remains the only constant thing in life
and that a company that is not doing well today can decide to change for the
better and on the other way round, an outstanding company today can also decide
to backslide tomorrow.
Just as I mentioned
earlier that I am an avid shopper on both stores, and now for Konga…formerly when you shop on Konga,
the prices of products listed on each item on their platform is exactly what
you will pay when the goods finally arrive, i.e. to say that there were no
additional shipping cost for items found on Konga platform in the past.

And again
most time then, when I shop from Konga, it takes just 3 to 4 days for the items
to arrive my doorstep with what I ordered for perfectly intact. For those
reasons shopping with them became very lovely and that is to be considered
standard in all ramification of online shopping from any online store.
Then coming
down to shopping on Jumia then,
whenever I shop on their platform, the reverse of what I just mentioned above
have mostly been the case, with expensive delivery fee, items not arriving on
time and even when they arrive, the products are mostly in error, different
from what was ordered for and so on.
Now coming
down to present and most recent experiences, as the topic suggests, I notice a
twist in the whole thing. I see Jumia strongly improved in their quality of
services rendered whereas Konga is acting as if they want to backslide or
already backsliding as the case may be.

My most
recent dealings with Konga have not been fair enough as regard to what was obtainable
in the past. On Konga now unlike before, all items now ship with fees and it
does not end there, even if it is a single pack of match that you are shopping
for that is as light as feather, Konga will still apply a N1,500 shipping fee
outside Lagos.
Again, my
recent orders from them have been delayed, taking approximately 2 weeks to arrive
my doorstep apart from only the last order which took 5 days to arrive. So I am
still monitoring Konga closely with their recent clumsiness.
Now for
Jumia, my recent shopping experiences were nothing far from being amazing,
ranging from very good customer relations that I received to lower shipping
fees on lighter items and most amazing is that just within 4 days of all my
recent shopping with them, I have received calls from them notifying me that my
orders have arrived Port-Harcourt. And
when the items finally get to my doorstep, they have been intact with what I ordered
for.

With all
these recent experiences on both Jumia and Konga, I was forced to put up this
piece and ask whether Jumia are beginning to turn new leaf in quality of
services rendering and on the other hand if Konga are beginning to backslide.
Over to you,
if you have any recent experience on the both stores that you will like to

Konga has become a pain in a**. My last order took 3 weeks to deliver in Abuja. I made another other and after one week I have been calling and sending emails only for them to keep saying we have informed our delivery team and the items will arrive soon and if you dont receive in 48hrs time please inform.
ReplyDelete48 hrs have gone past and nothing. Konga is beginning to suck, I have never used Jumia, perhaps this is the time to try them.
