Opinion: Bluetooth Technology is Already out of Place
Bluetooth Technology was no doubt once the dominant
standard for wireless transfer of files/folders and data from one devices to
another.
It even went
ahead to reign supreme over the era of Infra-Red
technology when infra-red was also commonly distributed amongst devices in
performing similar functions.
Then,
Bluetooth overshadowed infra-red because of the faster and wider distance it
allows for those data transfer unlike Infra-Red where the synchronizing devices
have to be brought almost in close contact.
But today as
we speak, the use of Bluetooth technology to achieving file/folder and data transfer
purposes is in tremendous decline.

The reason
for the almost total abandonment of the Bluetooth technology in recent time is
not far-fetched, as the introduction and distributions of other widely accepted
standards that are now considered better in all ramifications have obviously
kept the Bluetooth tech at bay.
The current
and widely distributions of WiFi, WiFi hotspot and WiFi Direct have all changed the ways people synchronizes data
wirelessly when it comes to speed and wider distance coverage.
Now what I
see that is currently playing out on Bluetooth technology is what I consider as
the normal trend of archiving pieces of technology that no longer leave up to
the expectations of the present demands, and hence Bluetooth technology is
quickly going obsolete.
Look around
you now; you will hardly see people using their Bluetooth to transfer/receive
files and data, but what you will rather see are those using apps that make use
of WiFi based technologies like Flashshare, Xender, Shareit etc where speed is
almost equal to that of light.

The speed
with which WiFi based technologies synchronizes data among devices is in nowhere
comparable to that of Bluetooth which is considered slow and hence WiFi is now seen as the present and
future of wireless technology.
If the
current trend of the widely distributions of WiFi based tech and the decline in
use of Bluetooth based tech persist, I see a future where Bluetooth will start
getting omitted in future devices just in similar manner that infra-red now
hardly sees the light on most current devices.
