From Android L Lollipop 5 to Android M, Marshmallow 6.0 is now Officially the Next Android OS
Google has
finally unwrap the meaning of the M
in later in the year upcoming android OS.
And as with Google android naming convention, a suitable
dessert name known as Marshmallow
has been assigned to Android M that will be succeeding android L (Lollipop).
The vice president of Android Engineering, Dave Burke have
been said to have taken to his Twitter account on Monday to announce the new
dessert name for Android M.
Since early May of this year that Google made its first pronouncement
for the upcoming android OS, it has only been series of guesses on what the M
will stand for; and while some have Meringue
on their mouth as speculations, Google on its part went for Marshmallow for its
next OS.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be focusing more on providing
stability and performance improvement than introduction of new features like
the previous android version.
