HTC Struggles as Demand for its Smartphones Dwindles
Many might
not know that the highly rated Taiwanese company HTC is currently struggling in
the smartphone market both in low demand and sales of its devices.
And not
until the company acknowledged the revenue decline in the sales of its smartphones
both in the first and second quarters of this year as compared to the height
they attained in previous years.
The company
recorded a heavy loss in revenue in the second quarter of this year and that
saw their revenue fall deep to $1.04 billion.
With their
flagship device the HTC One M9, which
the company placed much hope on to elevate the status of their business in the
highly competitive smartphone market, only attracted few and unexpected demands
and sales.

Consumers
were rather opting for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple’s iPhone 6 ahead of the HTC
One M9 thereby creating a rather unstable and worrisome atmosphere for the
Taiwanese company.
And even
products from Xiaomi and Huawei continued to attract better
customers ahead of hTC flagship device.
In a bid to
turn things around, we learnt that the leadership of the company has been
reshuffled, which now saw Cher Wang, replacing Peter Chou as CEO.
As the
revenue drop in smartphone continues for the struggling company, the company
has maintained that they will continue to diversify their businesses and will
not concentrate only on smartphones for their comeback approach.
Recently, we
have seen some hTC gadgets like grip fitness bands, Re camera and others
springing out as the company plans massive device diversification.
