You Can Now Convert Firefox Browser to Chrome or Opera
Yes you can now
convert Firefox browser to use Google Chrome or opera extensions, as Mozilla Firefox
recently launched new feature that will allow extensions specifically designed
for Chrome and Opera to be used on Firefox browser.
For browser
add-on developers, this will surely be a welcome development, knowing that they
can easily built tools that are now compatible to many platform, thus a kind of
lessening the burden of developing different but similar tools for each browser.
Though users
will not be able to directly install the Chrome extension via Chrome store but
will need to be verified by Mozilla and have the extension added through the
official Firefox extension page.
And the like
of Microsoft new Edge browser is also likely to get similar support in the
event that it starts supporting extensions.
Then for
existing add-ons, you need to make some adjustments before you can use then on
Firefox.
Finally,
since this is still a new development, we expect this latest Firefox feature to
be rolled outto the public gradually in the coming weeks.
