WhatsApp Reaches 900 Million Monthly Active Users
One of the
greatest mobile chat apps of our time has reached whopping milestone record of
active regular 900 million users across the globe.
According to WhatsApp co-founder, Jan Koum in his Facebook post "WhatsApp now has 900 million monthly active users"
And with
this latest achievement it all seems that the projected benchmark earlier set
by Whatsapp to connect and have at least 1billion active users worldwide is almost
coming to pass.
This
achievement was attained as result of addition of about 10 million active users
mostly from developing nations of the world like India, Brazil etc. in the last
2nd and current quarter of the year.
And now the
whole thing looks like anything that Facebook, which currently stand as the
king of web social media lays hands on immediately start speaking in volume; as
this can also be seen in the rapid rising of users at the Instagram end.
You could
recall that WhatsApp was acquired by Facebook in February last year in what
appear to be a record breaking buyout to the tune of $19billion.
And again, in
a recent and similar announcement, Facebook marked its milestone record of daily 1billion users.
Finally with
this latest milestone achievement by WhatsApp, other famous and competing mobile
chat app like BBM, Viber etc. will soon have to bury their faces in dismay as a
king (WhatsApp) in the making is about to take over the mobile chat app world.
