Why Are MTN And SIM REG Bombarding Your Inbox With SIM Registration/Updates Lately?
Well, I know
that I am not the only one that is currently undergoing what I call mass
spamming of inbox by MTN and SIM REG notifying that we should go and
register/update our lines this month to avoid SIM barring, because other MTN
customers have also confirmed that.
For me, in a
day I receive not less than 50 of such messages in my phone inbox and if that
is how to notify people to go update their SIMs, then I think something is
definitely wrong with MTN somewhere.
But one
thing that baffles me is how MTN do all these with so much impunity, because
even after they were fined heavily last year by NCC, MTN has neither paid the
fine nor changed from their ways.
How can one
begin to explain receiving 50 to 70 similar messages every day since the beginning
of the year, and that is what is currently happening to many MTN subscribers.
Now my
question is, must MTN spam their customers is such manners in order to make
them go update their SIMs?

Even if you
have to constantly remind them, won’t one message per day be enough?
Some might
want to attribute the excessive message to system failure, but why always MTN
and why is it that other network provider are not facing such system failure?
In my
opinion, until MTN pay the N1.04trillion that was later reduced to N780billion
fine, they will not stop all these things they are doing.
We have
heard the harsh conditions and mammoth crowds that customers have to endure in
order to go update their SIMs, and to be frank, we are even all tired with this
per min per second call from MTN to go update our SIMs.
Are you not
tired?
