Infinix Hot 2 (Android One) Users, Why You Should Not Upgrade To Marshmallow
It is no
longer news that the Infinix Hot 2 Google Android One phones since the beginning
of this year have been receiving android 6.0 Marshmallow updates.
To some
Infinix Hot 2 users that are yet to receive the Marshmallow update Over The Air
(OTA), they have even been rushing to manually upgrade their devices to Android
5 devices via flashing of Marshmallow custom ROM.
Yes it is
good thing to always stay in line with the latest android OS as they are being
rolled out, especially for those using android devices that can receive them.
We know that
Android Marshmallow is currently the latest android OS and Infinix Hot 2 users
are eligible to upgrade, though android N that will replace Marshmallow is currently
in the making and expected it to debut towards the last quarter of the year.
But if you
are also an Infinix Hot 2 user, there is all indication that is pointing out
that you should not be in a hurry to upgrade or in fact do not even upgrade for
now.
The reasons
why you should not upgrade your Infinix Hot 2 Android One Lollipop device to
Marshmallow is not far-fetched, as many that have upgraded have quickly
downgraded back to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Here are the
major reasons why you should not also upgrade your Infinix Hot 2 to Marshmallow;
·
After
upgrading, there is high tendency that your phone will start hanging and
lagging
·
You
will lose the IMEI tweaking in case you want to use BIS data plan on it;
meaning you will not be able to tweak the IMEI to blackberry
·
Some
basic functions like WiFi and Hotspot might stop working
These and
many other problems are what you will most likely encounter after currently
upgrading your Infinix Hot 2 device to Marshmallow.
And there is
nothing more heart-breaking than for you to just start disliking your phone
just because it started misbehaving after an update that was supposed to be
juicy upgrade.
I believed
you must have seen reason now not to rush to upgrade your Infinix Hot device
devices from Android Lollipop 5 to Android Marshmallow 6.0 at least not for
now.

ReplyDeleteYes o, their first ever Marshmallow device.
DeleteI didn't like marshmallow so downgraded my Hot 2 back to lollipop.
ReplyDeletebut unfortunately the phone downloaded the marshmallow update again.
is there a way to disable the OTA update without rooting my phone?
Hi Walat,
DeleteYou actually need root to achieve that because the updates are tied to the system built of your phone.
