How To Recover Forgotten/Lost Privacy Protection (Anti-Theft) Password On Infinix Android Phones
Securing your mobile devices in any way possible that you can is a highly recommended practice all over the world and therefore security related activities with your gadgets should not be taken lightly.
There are different levels and types of security features that often accompany your mobile devices and you can easily activate them depending on the one you consider most suitable for you at any point in time.
These security features can range from setting up a screen lock for your device to encrypting your phones or setting up SIM card lock to setting up mobile anti-theft protection etc.
And in fact more and more security features are even incorporated by OEM on new devices and this is simply to let you know that security is often paramount and is not being treated with kids glove.
For example, many newer phones now come with fingerprint scanner, which on its own also provide some level of security.

And one common goal about all mobile security features is that they offer one level of privacy protection or the other.
In our topic today, we are going to be dealing specifically on how to recover forgotten or lost privacy protection (anti-theft) password on Infinix devices in order to allow you access your phone again.
As the name “anti-theft” suggests, it is a security feature that one can set up on their device to help them remotely lock their phones or erase user data in an event that their device is stolen or falls into the hands of unauthorised users.
Setting up mobile anti-theft on your Infinix android device is easy and all you need to do is to head over to the setting>>All>>security section of your device, scroll down to Mobile anti-theft and follow prompt to set it up.
Now on the cause of setting up your mobile anti-theft, you were required to set up a password/PIN and also recovery number.

It is this recovery number that you will use to get back your password in case you ever forget the password that you used in setting up your privacy protection anti-theft.
And now it happens that you once set up mobile anti-theft on your Infinix device in the past and you have boot or reboot your Infinix device at any time and you were prompted to enter a privacy protection password to unlock, but it also happens that you have forgotten your password.
Without further ado, if you are presently facing that situation with your Infinix device, follow the steps below to recover password and unlock your device without losing any data;
• Make sure your SIM card is intact on the locked Infinix device and also make sure that some airtime is available on it
• Get another phone (any phone at all) and insert the SIM card (number) that you used as recovery option when setting up the anti-theft password.
• With the recovery number phone, send the keyword #mima# in an SMS to the SIM number in the locked Infinix device
• Wait for some seconds and a new password would be sent to the recovery number
• Now use the new password to access your locked Infinix device
Hurray! You have just succeeded in recovering your lost privacy protection (anti-theft) password and you are back again into your Infinix device.

ReplyDeletePlease help me recover privacy protection password for infinix X600,I tried #mima# its not working
ReplyDeleteI am currently experiencing this issue right now. I changed one SIM Card on my dual SIM Infinix Zero 3, it got locked by the Anti-Theft Security. However I was able to read pop-up MTN notification telling me of a new SMS charged to my SIM. Soon after my Sister called to tell me she received an anti-theft SMS from my MTN line. Obviously the phone automatically texted her and obviously she was my recovery number. Therefore for this SMS to be sent, one needs to have airtime on the SIM on phone so the phone can be communicating automatically with the recovery number. I have asked my sister to send #mima# to my phone and hopefully, my phone will reply with the recovery password. I think that's how it works. I will inform the forum should this work.
ReplyDeleteI discovered that the number
This works for me just now
DeleteI am Soo grateful. #mima# to be sent to your blocked phone from the number receiving messages that your phone has been stolen or lost.
Please #mima# did not work for me.

ReplyDeleteu need to put sim (original one worked on the password locked) phone.
ReplyDeletethen use the back up phone---the phone you set as emergency, or anti-theft, lost, track down location phone.
open MSM, enter your password locked phone number, enter #mima# in message field.
tap send. you will receive a password number on the backup phone. enter that 8 or 9 digits on the password locked phone. done.
it did not work, it tried it 5 times already
DeleteI received the code. I tried to catch up the maybe 5 seconds given to access my phone. I get the code but when i enter it did not work

ReplyDeletei fogortt my my password please help
ReplyDeletei forget my password please help me i have infinix x557
DeleteThank you very much
ReplyDelete"...also make sure that some airtime is available on it"
ReplyDeleteThis one's very important. If your phone is on prepaid and your sms credit is empty (load), it cannot send a pin when you send #mima# to your locked phone. While my phone isn't Infinix, this also unlocked my Cherry Mobile S5. This is probably common on Chinese phones where the mobile theft is turned on.
unlocked work yaay!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for helping me open my infinix zero 3 today when I thought all hope was lost. But I have a problem now. The phone won't stop sending "This phone may have been stolen...." How do I stop that?

ReplyDeletei tried inserting a new sim into my infinix hot 4 pro but am asked to provide a privacy protection password and i dont know about that
ReplyDeletehey guys i want some help too concerning this anti theft privacy protection password!

ill been texting #mima# and #passowrd# but the new passowrd never came
ReplyDeletefrom the recovery number! anyone knows how to solve this?
#unlock# worked for me it unlocks the device
ReplyDeletebut, I didn't get any password for turning Anti theft off
Use #password# to get new password to change to your own desired password.
DeleteWhen the mobile anti-theft was activated this is the message the recovery number received:
ReplyDeleteI activated mobile anti-theft and set your phone number as my emergency contact; this enables remote control should my mobile be lost or stolen.
The following are relevant commands:
Remote locking: #lock#
Remote unlocking: #unlock#
Destroy data remotely: #wipe#
Forgot password: #password#
What if you send #password# out there is no credit on the sim
