Why Are Prices Of Infinix Phones Far Cheaper In Kenya Than In Nigeria?
If you have been monitoring the prices of Infinix phones over the years, you must have noticed that the prices of the same Infinix phones are far cheaper in Kenya than in Nigera, and these large variations in prices have made many Infinix fans ask the question;
Why are Infinix phones far cheaper in Kenya than in Nigeria?
Without mincing words, on our part we have also observed that the prices of Infinix phones in Nigeria are costlier than the prices of similar Infinix phones in Kenya.
Not only that, you might have also noticed that the new Infinix devices are often firstly launched in Kenya before they are being launched and introduced into Nigerian mobile market; and this has also raised the question on why Infinix concentrate more in taking their new device first to a supposedly lower Kenyan market than bigger Nigerian market.
For example, taking a case study with Infinix Note 3, the last time we checked the price in Kenyan Shillings; it is equivalent to 45,000 Nigeria Naira in Kenya, but in Nigeria the price of Infinix Note 3 is about N65,000

Similarly, in Kenya, the prices of Infinix Hot 4 is equivalent to N24,000, that of Infinx Zero 4 Plus is equivalent to N75,000, Infinix Hot 3 LTE is N29,000, and if you decide to look at the prices of these phones in the Nigerian market, you will notice great price variations, where they are far higher.
Taking the most recent case study on the Infinix first device in 2017, early this week, Infinix launched their latest device Infinix S2 Pro in Kenya and over there it selling for equivalent of N46,000, while in Nigeria, the phone is yet to be introduced and we all believed that when it finally launches, the price will cost far more than N46,000.
Though some have speculated that the reason for such large price variations is the Nigeria weakening currency, but even at that we only expect to see only but slight variations in prices of Infinix devices in Kenya as compared to the prices in Nigeria.

As result of such large price variations and cheaper Infinix phones in Kenya than Nigeria, some Infinix fans in Nigeria now try to leverage on that by asking their friends and relatives who are visiting Kenya for a short tour or business trip to obtain the Infinix devices in Kenya for them at cheaper rate.
Finally, Infinix fans in Nigeria are still strongly clamouring for price parity of Infinix phones in Nigeria and Kenya, so that they too can equally be buying them at similar low rate in Nigeria other than sometimes having to wait for somebody heading to Kenya to get it for them
