Airtel To Roll Out 4G LTE Network Services This Month

Wonder why it has taken Airtel eternity to roll out 4G LTE broadband services in Nigeria, when subscribers to other competing network providers like MTN, Glo and 9Mobile have been enjoying 4G LTE services since the beginning of this year.

Again, while other network providers have succeeded in taking 4G LTE services to several states in the country, information reaching us has it that Airtel will be starting out with their 4G LTE services in 3 cities of Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt in this month of December.

Although, it is a welcome development to see Airtel joining the lots to offer 4G services to their subscribers in the country, but it is quite disheartening to know that many countries across the globe have even gone beyond 4G LTE technologies and have even started testing out 5G technology, while network providers in this region are still battling with the rolling out 4G networks and they even have poor 3G services in many locations in the country.

Finally, in another related development, the Indian parent company Bharti Airtel recently partnered with famous Swedish telecom giant Ericsson in a 3 year deal that will see them commence the test run of 5G wireless technology in India.
