Glo Is Finally Buying Out 9mobile On This Day Of This Month
After many struggles from former Etisalat turned 9mobile and the biding that was opened couple of months back for the acquisition of 9mobile assets, the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has finally concluded plans for the official selling and handover event of 9mobile to Globacom who won the bid and the handover is slated to take place on the 16th of June 2018.
The handover date, which was earlier slated for last month was rescheduled due to certain circumstances beyond control and NCC this time around has made it clear that the new date, which is 16th of this month is no longer tentative and shall be the main date of the event, without any further room for postponement.
With Glo officially acquiring 9mobile assets in the couple of days to come, which will then give them access to 9mobile database and information, it will entail that Glo will leapfrog MTN to become the largest telecommunication network provider in Nigeria.
Lots of Glo and 9moible subscribers have greeted the news of Glo acquiring 9mobile with mix feelings; while many considered it as a welcome development and sees it as an opportunity for Glo to use 9mobile technology to improve on their perceived poor data services across the country, some are sceptical and scared that they might end up losing out on the much faster internet connectivity service that they enjoy with 9mobile.
But finally, with Glo setting to buyout 9mobile this month, we all hope and wish that the deal is for the good and that Glo will turn the development into a new synergy and use it as an adrenaline to fire up their services, especially in the area of providing faster internet access to all.
