The Tecno C9 processor can't be a 2013 mtk 6582 processor which is also a quad core and not an octacore processor, Tecno phantom 5 was a highly overpriced device, there's not a phone in the world with that Mtk 6753 octacore cpu that costs as much as the Tecno phantom 5, if this Tecno C9 costs more than N50k then it will suffer from poor sales just like the Tecno Phantom 5.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrew,
DeleteWe will look further into that processor.
Then coming down to pricing, don't be surprise when you see it sell as high as 60K, because those features like eye scanner coupled with the T-band that it will be coming along with will definitely add up the price.
In as much as we believed that the Phantom 5 was pricy, the fingerprint scanner is not unlikely feature that added up the price.
Anyway let's watch and see when they fix the price.
Thank for dropping by and for your wonderful contribution.
Do have a lovely day ahead
I'm just annoyed with these phone companies like Tecno and Infinix exploiting the goodwill that Nigerians have for their brands, Tecno wouldn't have been a success in Nigeria if they had sold Tecno phantom f7 for 60 or 70K, they should stop marketing and selling lower midrange phones as premium quality phones just because it has a few decent features like a good camera and a fingerprint sensor.. I want China brands like Ulefone and Xiaomi to come into the Nigeria market and knock Tecno and co off their perch because Xiaomi for example makes better phones than Tecno and Infinix but sell at a cheaper price, eg the Xiaomi redmi note 3 (snapdragon edition) is a much better phone than Tecno Phantom 5 both in specs and build quality with a fingerprint sensor as well but sells at half the price. If Tecno decides to sell the C9 for anything more than 33k then they are truly exploiting nigerians. I also believe that Tecno should have increased the battery capacity of the Tecno C9 to at least 4000mah, combine that with all those other decent specs and possibly a good pricing as well then it might become one of the most popular and demanded phones to come out this year.
ReplyDeleteHonestly 33K is way too small for the Camon C9.
DeleteHow much is Camon C8 currently?
If they sell Camon C9 for that amount you mentioned, then nobody will go for Camon C8 again.
Coming down to increasing the battery to 4000mAh; they can do it, but it is all marketing strategy, because if they decide to pack it with 4000mAh, it will affect the sales of other Tecno phones as everybody will now be looking up to Camon C9 only.
Well i must say, Tecno is stepping up the game and going premium gradually but do you think Nigerian market will favour them on this ? I know if it was the like of xiaomi or ulefone that build this phone that the price won't range just like the OP speculated . Truth be told , Nigerians like good things but tagging it with a higher price will make them to look away to other brands and thus giving you a lower sales. This over-price ish happened to Tecno when they unveiled their winpad 10 tablet and phantom 5 and here they are again trying to make the same mistake, don't be supprised when the price of this device drops and you see something like 75k upwards as the price tag ,but for now let's watch as things unfolds.
ReplyDeleteTechno w5 and camon c9 which is better
ReplyDeleteTechno well soon become a brand.
