Yes you read it very well because you will soon start cutting your SIM cards again if you are a Tecno and Infinix fan and you like going for newer smartphones as they launch. And if you may want to know the reason for that, we are saying it is simply because technology in changing and you chose to change with the trend.

Technology and trend are fast changing and back in the earlier days of Tecno and Infinix phones, and in fact smartphones in general, we were all used to the then mainstream SIM card type, the Mini/Standard SIM, when virtually all smartphones were manufactured to use the Mini SIMs from different network providers.

In those earlier days, people knew only about Mini SIMs or what they normally regard as standard SIM card that measures 25mm X 15mm in length and breadth, without actually knowing that advance in technology will quickly tilt away from standard SIM to smaller SIM sizes, in similar manner technology also tilted away from the then standard external SD cards to what we have everywhere now as micro SD cards.

And as you have it, the era of mini or standard SIM cards for smartphones is quickly getting behind us as we move in the direction of smaller but mightier SIMs.

In 2014, Tecno and Infinix companies started deviating from the manufacturing of phones with mini SIM slot to those with micro SIM slots and eventually, the micro SIM started taking over mainstream SIM type from mini SIM and  as of 2017 virtually all Tecno and Infinix phones were made with the micro SIM card slots.

It is usual for phone users to try to retain their unique SIM card number in virtually any circumstances they find themselves and in order for them to do so; they will necessarily need to transform their SIMs by resizing them to be suitable for their current devices.

So, when Tecno and Ininix transitioned from Mini SIM devices to micro SIM devices, in order to adapt to the changes, Tecno and Infinix fans started cutting/resizing their mini SIMs to mirco SIMs.

But it doesn’t end there as Tecno and Infinix phone lovers are about to start cutting their SIMs once again simply because the era of nano SIM card has now come upon us as Teco and Infinix have started  keying into the new trend of nano SIM card slot smartphones like those of OEM from Samsung, HTC etc.

We are already seeing it in the 2018 phones launched by Tecno and Infinix as they all came with the nano SIM slots, signifying that micro SIMs are now gradually been relegated and those that will obtain these newer devices from Tecno and Infinix will once again have to cut their micro SIM to Nano SIM size in order to adapt to the changes.

And this year’s Tecno and Infinix phones, like the Tecno Camon X, Tecno Pouvoir 1 and Tecno Pouvoir 2, Infinix S3 and Infinix Hot 6 Pro all came with the Nano SIM size slots, which is a strong indication on why you will soon see Tecno and Infinix phone users cutting their SIM cards again.

Although, you can always opt for pre-modified or normal Nano SIMs in the market without necessarily cutting your existing mini or micro SIMs, but if you have to do that, you might need to engage in the more tedious, time consuming and even more expensive method of SIM swapping, so why not use your scissors at home if you are techy enough to easily resize your SIM card or pay a token out there to have it cut with special SIM resizing hand-clip mechanical device?
